Mr. Ed Welbourn

Mr. Welbourn obtained a bachelor degree in Psychology from Pitzer College of the Claremont Colleges located in Southern California. Thereafter, he attended California Western School of Law located in San Diego, California and obtained his Juris Doctor. While in law school, Mr. Welbourn was a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Anthony Battaglia, Magistrate for the Federal District Court, Southern District of California  Additionally, Mr. Welbourn clerked for the San Diego District Attorney Office in their Special Operations division where he gained experience handling large drug cases and political corruption prosecution. 

Prior to becoming a criminal defense attorney, Mr. Welbourn was employed as a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Orange. Mr. Welbourn knew that the better serve his future clients as a defense attorney, he needed to understand the inter-workings and operations of the prosecution.  While a Deputy District Attorney, he personally prosecuted and tried thousands of misdemeanor and felony matters ranging from DUI, Domestic Violence, Drugs to violent gang crimes. 

After several years, Mr. Welbourn left the District Attorney's Office and began his career as a criminal defense attorney. Mr. Welbourn has successfully defended thousands of misdemeanor and felony cases ranging from DUI, drugs, Domestic Violence, and violent felonies to serious gang cases.  Mr. Welbourn also successfully represents individuals charged with federal crimes. Recently, Mr. Welbourn successfully represented an individual named in the BALCO steroid scandal and was able to avoid prosecution for his client. The reasons for his great success are his strong trial and advocacy skills, negotiation ability, integrity and client service. These talents are reflective of his invaluable range of experience which he relies upon and applies to each case to obtain great results and success for his clients
